Polish/Jewish Exchange

What is the AJC/Forum for Dialogue Among Nations Jewish/Polish Exchange?

Each year, a delegation of emerging Polish leaders, selected by the Forum, travels to New York, Washington and Chicago, under the auspices of AJC, to address issues of concern in Polish-American and Polish-Jewish relations. Similarly, an American Jewish group, selected by AJC, visits Poland for intensive discussions arranged by the Forum and to see sites of Jewish interest.

"This unprecedented program has made a significant contribution to the writing of a welcome new chapter in the Polish-Jewish relationship," said AJC Executive Director David Harris.

2010 Chicago Review

Polish-Jewish Dialogue Accelerated Through Visit by Polish Delegation

10 Polish professionals representing the top echelons of their respective fields in Poland took part in an intensive program in Chicago in the fall of 2010 to promote Polish-Jewish relations.  The delegation toured Chicago’s Polish neighborhoods, met with Polish Chicago business and media leaders as well as AJC Chicago’s Board Members and AJC Chicago’s young professional group ACCESS.  Most members of the delegation said that the highlight was meeting with a Polish Holocaust survivor, Aaron Elster, and having a discussion about the need for for educational programs aimed at Polish children. The delegation was part of a joint AJC/Forum for a Dialogue Among Nations program aimed at increasing Polish-Jewish Dialogue.
