"We urge our elected officials and other civic leaders to make immigration reform a priority so that we can achieve a vision of America that incorporates our country’s founding principles of democracy, social justice, pluralism and social cohesion, and protects our nation’s economic and security needs."

A diverse coalition of Chicago's civic leaders came together to agree on one of the largest and complex issues confronting our nation.  Those below served on the Bridging America Project Task Force.  They met repeatedly throughout early 2010 to search for common ground among a diverse group of civic leaders from sectors relevant to the issue of immigration reform.  The Task Force has published a statement of comprehensive immigration reform principles that member participants will use as an advocacy tool in meetings with public officials.  Click here to view it.  Those who wish to support the statement of principles may sign-up by clicking here.
