Why is immigration a Jewish issue? Read a message from AJC Chicago Director Dan Elbaum to find out.

“We at AJC believe that the best way to make the Jewish community stronger is to make America stronger. And that is what immigration does.  We need comprehensive immigration reform to strengthen our workforce and economy, give a measure of relief to the millions living in the shadows, and add to the continuing diversity that forms this great nation.” - AJC Director Dan Elbaum

The American Jewish Committee is committed to building bridges, promoting human rights and supporting Israel through global Jewish advocacy.  AJC’s Chicago work engages key community stakeholders in order to bridge differences and foster understanding throughout the community.  The Bridging America Project was funded through a Ford Foundation grant as part of a national effort to convene, connect and engage new and experienced voices from mainstream sectors that can bring additional access and new political power to policy makers, influence the public debate and promote, support and enable the passage of comprehensive immigration reform.
