Chicago 101: Foreign Consular Corps Learn about City’s Religious, Ethnic Diversity

In an effort to provide Chicago’s foreign consular community with a deeper understanding of the city’s cultural diversity, the AJC-Chicago Chapter will host a two-part seminar devoted to exploring the various ethnic and religious groups that call Chicago home.

A look at “Religious Chicago” took place on Thursday, March 4, 2010 and a look at “Ethnic Chicago” took place on Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

“Having an understanding of the people who make up the mosaic that is Chicago is an important lesson. Our diversity is part of what makes this city so special,” said AJC Chicago Chapter President Larry Adelman. “Among our many missions, AJC serves as a resource for the foreign consular corps on issues of democracy, religious pluralism and the welfare of the Jewish community locally and worldwide.”
