The Honorable Onno Huckmann
Consulate General, Federal Republic of Germany
Chicago, IL 60611

Dear Consul General Huckmann,

On behalf of the American Jewish Committee, we write to thank you for Prime Minister Merkel’s strong statement on Iran and the contention that February will be a “decisive” month for sanctions.  The Prime Minister’s appearance with Israeli President Shimon Peres at the press conference sent a clear and unmistakable message to the global community on this important issue.

We look forward to working with you and your colleagues at the United Nations and the European Union.

We are looking forward to our scheduled lunch meeting in February.  Please do not hesitate to call us if there is anything we can do to assist you.
